Medford Master Bath
This project was a straight forward bathroom update with a new tile shower, flooring and a continuation of new vinyl windows throughout the house. This was a smaller space with no potential expansion in any direction, so we focused on trying to create some spatial freedom through the senses. In the shower we went from faux sheet stone surround to a simple but more modern 4” x 16” subway tile. The floor was a very dated 1” sq. tile pattern that became a much more elegant Italian 8” sq. tile with a little light grey in it. We also accented the rear wall with a symmetrical pattern of 3 of these same tiles. We took the low soffit out of the ceiling and raised it 12”, removed the short enclosure walls in front and increased the total width another 4”, which allowed for a full height frameless glass door with panel giving it a more expansive feel. The bathroom floor was a dark square tile we replaced with grey toned wood grain 6” x 24” rectangular tile to keep with the new subway in the shower. As in all removal and replace projects, there were some repairs due to previous water damage that were addressed before any of the new installation took place. Short in scope, simple and elegant.
